Theo and Paloma of Editions Tremblay (No Fixed Press), announce the launch of their latest acquisition – a 1.5 ton George Mann flatbed lithographic press on Saturday, 17 July – 3pm at their premises in Canopy Artspace, 124 Grafton Street Artist and printmaker, Pamela Griffith, former owner of the press for the past 45 years will be guest speaker, launching the press in its new home. The cast iron press, built 1890 by The George Mann Company of Leeds & London, was designed as a flatbed press to print from lithographic stones. Originally steam driven, it was upgraded with gears and an electric motor in the 1920s for Burton Print of Sydney, to produce movie posters for the Australian market. Theo Tremblay has rebuilt and given this beautiful 1.5 ton antique press a complete makeover to continue the new stage of its glorious life – in the tropics..
